Mechanical road assistance

In case of failure, breakdown or accident on the Salt network, it is possible to use the SOS points to call the operators of the Operational Control center who will activate the following services:

If you are forced to stop on the highway for any emergency, always remember to move your vehicle as far away from the traffic as possible, reaching a service area, a parking lot or a turnout.

Only if it is impossible to continue to the safest points, move the vehicle to the right and, if there is an emergency lane, beyond the single solid white line.

After conspicuously signaling your vehicle (simultaneous flashing lights and placing the warning triangle at least 150 meters away), get to the nearest SOS post.

Salt has a large number of SOS points located on each carriageway at a maximum distance of about two kilometers from each other. Each SOS point has a front panel on which, in addition to the instructions for the request for assistance in Italian, English, French and German, there are three buttons with the graphic symbol of the type of assistance required (Doctor, Mechanic, Fire Brigade).

A pre-recorded welcome message facilitates the use of the SOS column through which it is possible to talk on line and in real time with the SALT operator. Salt Operational Organization, once acquired all the information necessary for the correct identification of the SOS caller point and the type of emergency, will consequently dispatch the necessary means and personnel.
